Timar
Timar is a Westerly boat, built in 1980. The current owners Mr Jason and Richard Freeborn, brothers from Mylor, have owned her since 1992. Jason invited us on board to see how the Treadmaster Marine decking had not only lasted exceptionally well since its fitting when the boat was built in 1980, but how it also survived two sinking's and still looked perfect! The pictures show how well the decking looks after 28 years, the colour and pattern are still fantastic and as Jason explained it has not had anything done to it apart from cleaning with detergent and a jet washer. The boat was first bought by a Mr Geoffrey Ley, a fruiterer from Swansea. The boat was moored in Swansea harbour but unfortunately its first sinking occurred on the opening day of the harbour, whilst the brass band played on the docks the Timar sank due to cracks in between the keel and the hull! Westerly took the boat back for repairs and unfortunately ceased trading shortly afterwards, meaning the Timar was then held in the factory whilst the company was stripped of its assets. Mr Ley fought to get his boat back and after 3 years, finally the Timar was returned to him. In 1987 the second sinking of the Timar happened on Hartland Point where the boat got stuck on a rock and subsequently got damaged further as the tide came in a out causing a hole to the underside. It was recovered by fishermen who stripped the boat as Salvage leaving Timar in a sorry state. Geoffrey Ley decided at this point that he no longer wanted the Timar so she was sold to the Freeborn brothers in 1992 and was restored (except the decking!) to her former glory. Jason and Richard use the boat as much as possible, and race her almost every year in the Falmouth to Fowey race - which the Timar won in 2007! This is what you see today, the Westerley as she was when built, with the original Treadmaster Marine decking in place, and in no need of repair after her rather eventful life!

We purchased some of your Treadmaster Treadcote 2 years ago to smarten the deck of our Neptune 41 sailing yacht. Although we thought the product was quite expensive we would just like to tell you that it has been excellent, my husband even managed to apply it himself. No flaking even after 2 years. I would recommend Treadcote to anyone. Keep up the good work.

I have a 30 year old swimming pool built by Letts Pools in Suffolk with a 30 year old wooden laminated diving board covered I believe in your treadmaster surface. This year it has begun to go brittle and break up. Can you advise what I need to replace this with ? Sorry it is not the biggest order of the day but it is a credit to the product it has lasted perfectly until now.
