Subject: Removing Pads

We have an aluminium yacht with 23 year-old Treadmaster pads glued to the aluminium deck. Not surprisingly, it is getting a bit ragged round the edges. Some of the pads really do need to be replaced now.

What is the easiest method of lifting off the old pads? As we are the second owners of the yacht, I cannot tell you whether they were laid with single or two pot adhesive.

Your advice would be appreciated.

I have heard you can use a tool like this one... I haven't tried it myself (yet).
